Lab members present at SDMH conference 2025

July 10, 2025

On June 9th and 10th, several lab members attended the virtual Society for Digital Mental Health Conference organized by SDMH. Several members and friends of the lab participated in the poster presentations and got the chance to learn more about using technology in mental health interventions.

Olive Huang presented a poster on a project called: "Social determinants of health are associated with differences in acceptability and engagement with a mindfulness app: Moderation by gender, sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, educational attainment."
Riad El-karout presented a poster on a project called: "Standalone vs. adjunct? Comparing acceptability and treatment outcomes between two samples offered self-guided iDBT for substance use disorders."
Additionally, Danielle Downie who works with Dr. Lena Quilty at CAMH, presented a poster based on data from a previous iDBT trial: "Internet-based DBT (iDBT) treatment for substance use disorder (SUD): How DBT skills and treatment engagement relate to treatment outcomes."
Olive's work was also highlighted in a press release after the conference!
Future conferences later this year include the Canadian Sex Research Forum and ABCT.
